Buying Guide for Elliptical Machines: Everything you need to know!
Thinking of buying an elliptical machine, but don't know what, who, where, what? Let's see their main features and which ones you should give more importance to, based on the use you want to make.
1. Operation
Based on the resistances and how they work, we have 4 types of elliptical machines.
- Electromagnetic: Automatic resistance adjustment on the screen in watts, requires power supply.
- Magnetic (Electric): Electronic resistance adjustment on the screen, requires power supply.
- Magnetic (Manual): Manual resistance adjustment, does not require power supply.
- Resistance-Free: The elliptical machine operates without resistance and therefore without difficulty levels.
2. Disk Weight
The heavier the disk, the greater the resistance and the work produced during exercise.
3. Maximum User Weight
For the proper functioning of the machine, the maximum user weight should be 10-12 kg less than the factory maximum user weight. Choose the maximum user weight from the filter, based on your own needs.
4. Step Length
It is directly related to the size of the disk. The larger the disk, the longer the user's step length, while reducing joint stress. If the user is tall, they will exercise more effectively on a machine that provides a longer stride.
5. Features

Know your needs? We know what to look for in elliptical machines!
1. For simple use
If you don't plan on doing intense workouts, you can choose an elliptical machine either without resistance or with manual magnetic resistance, with the maximum user weight that meets your needs.
2. For intense workouts
If you want progression in your workouts, choose an elliptical with electromagnetic resistance so you can adjust the intensity each time. Also, choose an elliptical machine with a stride length, on average 45 cm.
And don't forget to check if it has the ability to measure heart rate and if it covers the maximum user weight.
3. For gadget lovers
If everything in your home is smart, why shouldn't your elliptical be too? Choose an elliptical with Bluetooth to easily connect to your phone and track your progress, with the ability for fat measurement, heart rate monitoring, USB port, and tablet/mobile holder to keep your smartphone in a safe place.
4. For space saving
If space is important to you, choose an elliptical machine with wheels that folds for easy moving and storage. Usually, those without resistance or those that operate without electricity are lighter. Check the product specifications for weight to make sure you can easily move it.
Don't forget! Many times there may be differences in a product based on its overall characteristics and construction. Before deciding, read reviews from other users to see their opinions too!
