The book "Electronic Materials and Devices", by Professor S. Kasap, is now one of the acclaimed academic textbooks for Materials and Devices in Electronic Technology at the Universities of the United States. It is specifically used for second and third year students. A measure of its success is the fact that it has made the second edition in a short period of time (not a reprint), from which the translation has been made - while the author is already preparing the third edition. Although the author is a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineers, the book is also useful for Departments of Chemical Engineering, Physics, and Materials Science. The content of the book covers almost all properties of materials and their corresponding devices, but special emphasis has been given to semiconductor electronic devices. The topics are developed in depth and the author always takes care to highlight the conceptual traps in which other authors who desire a more simplified approach are trapped.
