Description
In the small island of Pergoussa, a murder will disturb the peaceful life of the residents. Dimitrios Maggelanos, a professor at the School of Fine Arts, is found dead in his room. The crime is called to be solved by police officer Homeros Barthakoulakis, a provocative but conscientious Cretan, who was transferred to the island to strengthen the police department during the summer tourist season. In his endeavor, he will reluctantly accept the help of his father-in-law, Sebastianos Katalefkos, a renowned journalist, who, although he does not like his unruly son-in-law at all, will offer him insights where everyone else falls into a dead end. The suspects are many: Pantelos, a self-taught painter who makes a living by selling landscapes to tourists in the summer, Apostigaros, the village madman, a Greek couple of tourists who disappear as if by magic from the isolated island, Falakrokotsidakias, the owner of the only bar and camping site where young stoners camp, and also the shipowner Hatzisokratis with his nephew Alex, who own a piece of the island. Who is ultimately guilty? And what is the connection between the auction of a painting by a mysterious artist from the famous Christie's house in London?
Dimitris Kampourakis offers us a panorama of characters, highlighting the passions of human nature, but also the corruption at all levels of Greek society.
