Description

This book examines and analyzes the introduction of co-sentiment in social theory and research in the social sciences, focusing specifically on how the so-called "affective turn" fuels ethnographic writing and anthropological analysis. By highlighting the genealogy of the term's usage, as well as its connection, correlation, and disconnection from the study of emotions and senses, representation, and subjectivity - in order to explain its emergence in recent years not only as a new epistemological turn, but primarily as a new methodological proposal for anthropological research - their interrelated issues are examined, such as gender and race, colonialism and decolonization, extraction and religion, insecurity and ecology as crucial issues in view of the contemporary urgent need for redefining the political.
