After a lot of searching, I ended up with this. Incredible feeling in the hand and very high quality as a watch. It is my first automatic watch and I have it for everyday use. I highly recommend it.
This specific watch has an amazing design and finish. Very resistant to scratches, sturdy on the wrist without weighing it down, its green dial is incredible because it doesn't show exactly green but much darker (in case someone doesn't want it to be too vibrant green). For an automatic mechanism, it is extremely accurate, especially compared to the Seiko skx007. It goes without saying that it can be worn on formal occasions with a shirt with great ease, as well as with jeans and a t-shirt. It goes well with everything and looks incredibly elegant.
Very beautiful and high-quality watch. I don't have an opinion about the bracelet because I wear it with a NATO strap from the beginning. In terms of accuracy, it is at +15 without anything bothering me about it. I have had it for two years and its purchase was at €210.
You can find it on YouTube and generally everyone knows it by the name "Orient Kamasu". The watch is incredible... Beautiful... From the first second you touch it, you will understand that you are dealing with a serious and I would say much more expensive watch than it actually costs.... I happened to hold it in my hands and compare it to a 10,000 euro Rolex Submariner.... You can't imagine how similar they were in quality and weight.. (of course, in terms of appearance) of course, the Rolex is superior in mechanism and quality, finishing, etc. we all know that... However, I didn't expect to feel them so close by holding them. So in a few words, for their price, you steal them... The mechanism is very good for the standards, in-house made in Japan... But it loses time like all the others.... Even the Rolex will lose 2-3 seconds per day.. Watches like this you get them to have the magic of automatic movement... If you want purely accurate time, you go for a quartz movement or a smartwatch... That's it.. 5/5
For the money I paid, it's good! With 194 euros! What do you get? The interior, the rotating bezel, is made of aluminum and scratches easily. If they had used ceramic, it would have been perfect, considering it has a sapphire crystal.
It is dark green (compared to the photos) and has the property to change color in very bright environments from a dark blue or black in the eye of a third party. In case the mechanism does not show significant time deviations, I consider it a value for money watch.
An excellent dive watch with an in-house mechanism and sapphire crystal at a very competitive price!
Some observations:
1) The crown is small and not very user-friendly for frequent use, however, it is sturdy and inspires confidence.
2) The green color is darker than in the pictures, almost appearing black indoors, but it looks beautiful in the sunlight!
This particular watch offers more features than the competition at this price (mainly the sapphire) and by changing the bracelet to a strap or jubilee, it can become even more elegant!
I believe it is a very good choice for someone looking for their first dive watch or even their first mechanical watch!
One-year update
The watch has served me very well, I wear it in the sea, in the mountains with a NATO strap (22mm width), and at work with the strapcode jubilee (16.5cm wrist circumference in the photo). It illuminates very well in the dark and the mechanism maintains accuracy at around +7 seconds per day.
The updated series of Orient Kamasu watches with round elements on the fume dial has also been released, equally beautiful timepieces.
It continues to be perhaps the best value-for-money choice in dive watches around 200 euros
It is a watch that has a Sapphire crystal, which is one of the biggest advantages in watches. It has approximately +- 10 seconds daily (there is no watch, even with a battery, that does not lose seconds per week). Its price is very low considering what it offers...
The mechanisms of these watches are ALL THE SAME, do not expect something different from another company at this price. So, up to 300 euros, we look at the quality of the glass, the quality of the bracelet, the clasp of the bracelet, the quality of the crown and bezel, and most importantly, its water resistance...
This specific watch is worth its money.
A simply wonderful watch at a very low price. Orient has truly become the new Seiko. They offer fantastic watches at low prices that are definitely worth much more. The watch has a very nice green dial that sometimes can appear black or very dark green or even blue. This is good because it means it matches most outfits. But it is also very beautiful. Additionally, the watch has an in-house movement by Orient, which is manufactured in Japan. The crystal is made of sapphire, something that is very difficult to find in a watch at such a low price because it is scratch-resistant and better than the hardlex used by Seiko. This watch is the new SKX and new Promaster. Also, its luminescence is very bright and can compete with that of the SKX. I bought it for €186 on 12/12/2020
Whatever is the most value for money in an automatic diving watch is currently playing. Tremendous accuracy of its mechanism (mine ranges from +5 seconds daily). Very good finish and quite good bracelet for its price. The crystal is made of sapphire, which means great resistance to scratches and impacts.
Its size (42mm) is ideal for any wrist.
The green color of the dial and the bezel (yes, I know, it looks black in the photos, but the bezel has exactly the same green color as the dial) is exceptional! Especially the way it plays with light, giving you sometimes greener, sometimes more petrol shades, is the element that in my opinion makes this product stand out, compared to the other "Kamasu" models.
