Max Scheler (1874-1928) is one of the most important German philosophers of the first half of the 20th century. Influenced by Nietzsche, Dilthey, and Husserl, his reflection attempts a synthesis of the most traditional with the most modern elements of German philosophy.
It is Nietzsche who first introduces the concept of ressentiment into the intellectual-ideological structure of philosophy. And it is Max Scheler who attempts in this book an analytical description of the sets of recorded experiences and actions that are characteristic of the resentful person. He places himself within the framework of the philosophy of values.
