Description

The Teacher in our days, despite the ominous developments that the modern world is experiencing, despite the dark conditions of human life, as shaped on a global level by engineering thinking, speculation, and ruthless economics, continues to be the inspired guide towards a better and fairer society. Because the future of a society, whether we want it or not, is judged by its Education, it is judged by the pedagogical and inspiring role of the teacher. It is ultimately judged by the conscious resistance of the teacher against the deliberate and systematic manipulation of free thinking, both his own and that of his students.
Moreover, not only the teacher but also the students as a whole continue to remain the hopeful voices of the most genuine and authentic protest against a society surrendered unconditionally to the harsh winds of speculation and consumer competition. Teachers, with their conscious criticism, as well as students with their equally conscious criticism, fortunately remain the bright hopes for a better future that will not be determined solely by the cold logic of numbers but mainly by the inner warmth of emotions.

And all these may seem like unattainable utopias, however, the dynamics of modern history have shown that it is extremely difficult, if not impossible, to prevent free people from hoping for these utopias, the only ones that have the power to inspire and change the world for the better.

Review this product
  • An easy-to-read book that should be read by those who question the concept of a teacher. It speaks to the heart of the educator and reminds them of their difficult but important role. I hold the following excerpt in my heart: "If a teacher loves their students, they will return that love and then some. And they should know that they will be remembered forever. And forever they will have a place in their hearts. And this will be the reward for their love, this will be the invaluable compensation for all the good they taught..." And I wonder now... Who is it that doesn't have that *one* teacher in their heart..?
