Description

The deepening of the concept of economic freedom, as it is derived, as a fundamental individual right, primarily from Article 5, paragraph 1 of the Constitution, presupposes two things: Firstly, the emphasis that it is based on the acceptance of the doctrine of freedom, human dignity, the principle of meritocracy, and the free development of one's personality. Secondly, however, it is deemed appropriate, since this freedom has always been and is the main object of the policies pursued by states according to the program of the governing, to present the modern evolution of economic liberalism within the framework in which it emerged. Thus, classical liberalism, "new liberalism", "neo-liberalism", globalization of the economy, as well as the content of the so-called "economic Constitution" are examined.

This makes it easier to approach the individual rights derived from the broader concept of economic freedom. These are: freedom of work, professional freedom, freedom of trade and industrial activity, contractual freedom, entrepreneurial freedom, freedom of competition, consumer protection, the right to advertise, and the freedom to create. Detailed analyses are dedicated to these individual freedoms, which are complemented by the rules concerning the limitations of economic freedoms, gradually shaped mainly by court precedents. Extensive bibliography is provided for each specific issue, while the detailed "Subject Index" makes it very easy to find the respective topics. A reference volume.
