The extremely compact and lightweight XA55 / XA50 offers high-quality 4K UHD image with beneficial features such as Dual Pixel CMOS AF, 15x optical zoom Canon lens, and advanced Full HD image quality through stunning HD Oversampling processing.

CMOS sensor type 1.0

Large CMOS sensor for stunning "bokeh" effects with high sensitivity and low noise. The camera also benefits from improved Full HD image quality thanks to HD Oversampling processing, while Canon Log 3 and Wide DR modes allow for capturing even greater dynamic range.

High-quality 4K zoom lens with 15x zoom

Optimize the quality of your images with the ultra-wide 25.5mm 4K optical zoom lens 15x with Super UD for minimizing chromatic aberrations. It provides advanced 5-axis image stabilization for shooting in motion or manual capture.

Fast and accurate Dual Pixel CMOS AF

The XA55/XA50 model incorporates Dual Pixel CMOS AF for fast and accurate autofocus on approximately 80% (vertical and horizontal) of the sensor. AF functions with face detection and Touch Tracking allow seamless focus control for intelligent operation. The Dual Pixel Focus Guide provides a graphical interface that aids manual focusing.

Recording XF-AVC and MP4 on SD cards

The XA55/XA50 model supports recording in multiple formats, such as XF-AVC and MP4. It records XF-AVC 4K UHD 160 Mbps at 25P, as well as Full HD 45 Mbps at 50P/50i/25P. It also allows for recording MP4 4K 150Mbps at 25P and Full HD 35Mbps at 50P/25P. It provides the ability to record slow and fast motion in 4K/Full HD up to 1200x.

Small and lightweight with professional features

The powerful features include the Infrared Mode, which allows users to record videos in low or no ambient lighting conditions, as well as simultaneous backup recording and relay recording with two SD card slots. Other features include 3G-SDI (XA55 only), professional audio support with two XLR inputs, 4-channel Linear PCM audio, and low power consumption for extended battery life.
