  All good for a year, both music and running perfectly until it started giving me a GPS upgrade and since then it takes 4-5 minutes to find a signal while before it found it in 3 seconds, factory reset did nothing. I don't know what's really happening, I'm tired of having to hold my hand up during workouts just to get a signal as if I'm trying to teach a lesson. It's a shame because it's an awesome watch.

  I have had the watch for about a year and a half now and it is very convenient and beautiful. It keeps me informed about notifications and in general, Garmin has done a good job in terms of design. It is very balanced between a smartwatch and a fitness watch. Only recently, when I had to do a stress test, did I realize how inaccurate its heart rate monitor is. There was a deviation of 20 to 40 beats. So, if someone wants it for the heart rate monitor, they will either have to get a chest strap accessory for accurate results or look for something else. Another drawback is that it does not have automatic sleep tracking; you have to manually set the hours you sleep beforehand. Also, considering today's standards, its battery could last a little longer. I am happy with my purchase a year and a half ago for 270, I don't know if I would buy it today

I am interested in a sport waterproof watch that looks nice (I also added a bracelet and it became super) with every outfit and has battery autonomy.   I have had the watch for 1 month. On the positive side, the measurements are very good, nothing like the smartwatch I had before. The screen is very clear under the sun, although it is not AMOLED. The smart functions of the watch are very good for me, and the touchscreen has good responsiveness. It is comfortable to wear and very lightweight. The Garmin applications are very good.

  On the negative side, the screen is not AMOLED (hence one less star) like the VENUE, and for the price, it should have better resolution. (I chose this watch instead of the VENUE solely because of the battery, which lasts longer and doesn't require daily charging.) The battery lasts me 3-5 days (depending on the watch face) without having everything open, compared to my previous Huawei watch where I would forget what charging even meant. The durability as a material did not impress me because it left a small mark on the bezel with the first impact (again, compared to the Huawei where nothing happened).

  Overall, I am satisfied because I knew what I was looking for: a more accurate watch for sports measurements, with some smart functions that help in daily life, but lacking in screen resolution compared to watches with AMOLED and a slightly lower battery, which is still satisfactory considering other comparable watches that require daily charging.

  I have it for about 4 months and I am very satisfied. Overall, it is a watch with emphasis on sports and fitness usage compared to smart features, without having the bulky and sporty appearance of purely athletic watches. There is a wide variety of aftermarket straps from Garmin and others, so it is very good as a casual watch compared to other purely athletic ones. The Garmin ecosystem easily integrates with many other platforms due to its popularity, so you are not limited to the capabilities provided by Garmin on its website, even though it practically offers everything.

  The battery life is as expected. For my usage, it lasts about 6-7 days with full use of notification features, alarms, etc., and about 4 hours of HR+GPS and another 4-5 hours of HR broadcast via ANT+.

  The notifications are great and you have the ability to respond with pre-set answers that you have created from the app. Other smart features include direct music streaming from the watch with apps like Spotify or controlling the music on your phone, as well as contactless payments, which I have not tried. You can also add other small apps from Connect IQ, but it is not comparable to the capabilities of, for example, an Apple Watch.

  The screen is not the best in terms of resolution and color reproduction, but this is not a typical smartwatch. The visibility under intense sunlight is excellent, and the always-on feature is the main advantage. If someone needs better image quality, they can look into the Venu, which is practically the same watch with an OLED screen (but as a result, it has worse battery life). The user interface does not have all the obvious functions, and it took me some time to find them all, even though I am familiar with Garmin products. The buttons are welcome for sports use, and the screen is generally responsive, with rare cases of unresponsiveness to a tap or accidental activation from clothing, for example. There is also a lock feature.

  I have not seen any scratches on the body or glass from accidental impacts, so there is likely some durability there.

  It does not have official support for maps or navigation, apart from displaying your track after an activity and a basic compass function that guides you to a saved point. There are related apps on Connect IQ, but I have not tried them.

  It does not have any sound and also does not have a thermometer. The temperature it shows is from weather models obtained from the phone. The oximeter does not provide accurate measurements, but it seems to have some consistency if someone wants to simply compare oxygen trends in the blood. Compared to the measurements of a Fenix 6 Pro Solar, they seem to show the same values (which is logical because it is the same sensor). However, as raw measurements, they are useless, and after a week of experimentation, I completely disabled them.

  I have the 4 with the 45mm and it never lasted more than three days on battery, no matter what settings I have made and I have been using it for a month and a half. I use it for 4 workouts of 2 hours each, without GPS and without screen brightness. I don't listen to music from the smartwatch and I have around 20 max notifications per day without having installed any apps except for 4 watch faces. In order to make the battery last for a third day, I have to turn off the heart rate monitoring and activity tracking, meaning I only use it as a watch. I also don't use the heart rate monitor during sleep and of course not the oxygen saturation for battery reasons. I thought it would improve with an update, but I don't see it. I bought it with the understanding that Garmin advertises up to 8 days of battery life and I imagined that it would be possible to keep it for 4-5 days with limited use. The measurements are relatively reliable in steps and heart rate, especially if you calibrate it with your own steps. I'm sorry that it doesn't have crossfit as a sport and so I have to change the exercise every time and programming to create my own program is not easy. Garmin Pay is not available in the national bank that I use. It survived a fall and made a very small dent on the bezel. However, the screen has a hairline scratch in the center that to be honest is very difficult to see and only from a specific angle. The strap is very comfortable and I must admit it doesn't get dirty easily. I would like the hook to be made of a harder material so that it doesn't move easily. These are some things someone would say if they were to get one of the fenix models, and preferably not one of the s models for battery life reasons. Also, the apps... not many apps and not a great store... it's not Samsung and it's not wear os, it's purely for your workouts with some smart functions. These are my experiences with the watch.

  I have been the owner of this device for a month and something. It definitely doesn't have the functions that a Smartwatch has (apps, analysis, etc.) but it also doesn't have the clarity, but that is known to me.

  NEGATIVES
  - The battery life is definitely longer than other smartwatches, but it doesn't reach the numbers promised. Mine lasts 4 days with several features off, including a 2-hour activity with GPS.
  - There is a problem with incoming calls. It vibrates only twice and then stops. It is a known issue on the forum, but it doesn't seem to do anything.
  - Sleep measurements are not accurate, as well as the stress level, while I have my reservations about the steps.
  - It does not have manual altitude adjustment and synchronization is done automatically (it doesn't succeed many times), so you cannot set the correct altitude for the starting point even if you know it.
  - The menu and settings are quite difficult to use.

  POSITIVES
  - Garmin Pay supports Revolut and Alpha Bank and is very convenient.
  - The GPS accuracy seems quite good.
  - You can save Spotify playlists and connect Bluetooth headphones. So when you go for a run, you don't need to have your phone with you. All you need is the watch and the Bluetooth headphones.
  - The Garmin Connect app has nice analyses and you have easy access from a computer.
  - The screen is always-on and the more it is under the sun, the better it looks.

  Overall, I consider the price quite high for what it offers. I have also read that there is no battery replacement, so it probably has a lifespan.

  I got it after a big dilemma and research (I was torn between this and the venu).
  I ended up choosing this for the following reasons: better battery life (the venu's amoled display only lasts half as long). Additionally, the venu has a smaller case and an 18mm strap, making it look almost like a women's or unisex watch (although some people may like that). The vivoactive also shows the home screen even when it's off (always on display) without backlight, which unfortunately doesn't happen with the venu and helps save battery (meaning you have to tap the screen to see what's happening on the venu). So, if someone isn't interested in flashy colors and the resolution of the amoled, which is beautiful, then the vivoactive 4 is the way to go since they have the same functions.
  Other than that, the watch has incredible quality and feels great on the wrist. The battery lasts a long time and the measurements are very accurate (floors, heart rate, steps, etc., heart rate compared to indications on a professional treadmill and a blood pressure monitor). The Garmin app takes everything to the next level, I really don't think there's a better application for a sports watch. There's a plethora of watch faces available on the Connect IQ store app, where you can find anything you can imagine. Choose the "SkyTracker" watch face if you want, it's beautiful and has all the information on your home screen without being tiring or confusing.

  Update 21/10/2020: After 4 months of use, battery life depends largely on the watchface you use (apart from active functions). Duration with a custom "heavy" watchface is approximately 3 days. It also depends on the format of the watchface (screen color, functions, etc.). Duration with default or custom watchface that you create is 5+ days.

  I made this particular purchase after extensive research for a beautiful, durable, and reliable sports watch at a relatively reasonable price that can be worn comfortably on a daily basis with basic/useful smartwatch functions. In addition to dozens of reviews and review videos, I spoke with owners of various smartwatches, both athletes and non-athletes. The conclusion was the same: try Garmin. I have had it for about 3 weeks now and it has pleasantly surprised me. It does exactly what it says, with a commendable battery life, which is the big advantage for me compared to popular smartwatch brands that may play YouTube videos but only last a maximum of one day. Of course, battery life is affected by the functions you choose to run simultaneously. I recommend purchasing it with screen protection (around €7), as the screen is exposed due to its size and architecture. The instant synchronization with the mobile phone and flawless call reception/answering through headphones is incredible. Messages or emails also appear in full, unlike competitors. You can reply with many predefined answers that you set through the application. The connection and playback of music with airpods is stable and without issues, except for the (one) first time that required reconnection. An important advantage is the flawless touchscreen operation - a rare feature for Garmin - which facilitates use and was one of the selection criteria compared to other models of the same brand (those who want an OLED screen, etc., should go directly to Venu instead of Vivoactive). The GPS connection is impeccable and fast, as long as the criterion set by Garmin is met from the beginning: outdoor use without obstacles above you (e.g. overhead power cables). It also supports Wi-Fi. The offerings in running training programs (which concern me) and statistics are on another level compared to apps like NRC. Perhaps it is not a watch for a casual athlete who runs, for example, once a week. The measurements appear accurate, except for the sleep function, which, as far as I understand, only measures the pre-set sleep period as sleep time.

  Countless watchfaces and generally many applications are available through the Garmin store. The application on the mobile phone is somewhat slow and the desktop application definitely needs improvement in the way music is imported from the computer. The use of the buttons/functions of the watch is a matter of habit.

  In conclusion:
  The Vivoactive 4 is a watch for athletes that can be worn on a daily basis as it is beautiful (people ask me which watch it is) and functions perfectly with basic smartwatch features such as receiving notifications, answering calls (with headphones), playing music without the need for a mobile phone (incredibly useful for running), making transactions with the watch (for Greece, Revolut and Alpha), and all of this with a relatively long battery life.

  I have been the owner of the vicoactive 4 for a month now!
  The watch is lightweight, you almost don't feel like you're wearing it, very accurate measurements (only a slight inaccuracy in sleep tracking), satisfactory battery life I would say! Very responsive touchscreen! It has several preloaded sports profiles that personally cover my needs! The body battery and stress level tracking are very good, so you know when your body is ready for the next activity! In my opinion, the watch is amazing overall and worth it!

  update 6/23/20 After 4 months of use, the watch has not had any issues at all! It works like the first day and constantly receives software updates from Garmin! I am very satisfied!

  update 4/3/2022 almost after 2 years of continuous use, the watch works perfectly! The only negative (if we can call it negative) is a slight battery degradation, which I consider normal! It continues to receive software updates from Garmin normally! In conclusion, it is worth its money and even more so at the current price!

  I have had it for 3 months already and I am completely satisfied. It is lightweight and has a minimalist design so it can be combined with more formal attire. It has very good clarity even in the sun. Its battery lasts almost a week with 3-4 workouts (without GPS). The GPS activates quickly when I am outdoors. There is a chance of losing 50-100 meters in the pool during training, especially if you change your style within the 50m or do exercises.

  A major drawback is that it does not have a profile for open water since it has GPS.

  During weight training, it detects the exercises you perform and counts the repetitions correctly.

  Update after 10 months: The watch stopped working and only turned on when connected to the cable. I took it to the authorized service and they replaced it for me as the battery had apparently died. After a month, the GPS couldn't connect to the satellite, so they had to replace it again. Luckily, all of this was covered by the warranty.

  My personal opinion after many smartwatches (pace, bip, gear s3, galaxy watch42mm-46mm, garmin vivoactive3-fenix5-5plus, huawei gt, and 4 Android models) is that I ended up with this one for the following reasons: battery life, variety of activities, variety of sensors that no other watch has in this range altogether (besides HR and GPS, barometer, altimeter, respiration, stress, recovery time, body battery, blood oxygen, sleep, high blood pressure and high heart rate notification in a resting state, etc.), and of course, reliability in measurements! Apart from these, yes, the screen is not AMOLED, but this type of screen is designed to be always on and have long battery life, and it is the most clear in sunlight. Lastly, it is touch screen, and I say this because for me, it is the reason I chose it over other Garmin models. Now, regarding notifications, although they are not like a pure smartwatch, there is no chance of missing any notification. And one more thing, you can reply to all notifications with some pre-set answers that you choose from your phone to have them on the watch. I would say that the screen response is great, unless you have a heavy watch face. And one clarification I want to make is that for those mobile phones that have automatic battery management, they should remove the Garmin application because it is the reason for disconnections and often closes it, resulting in a loss of connection with the watch.

  I have had it for two days in my possession, already the owner of a Huawei Watch GT 2, so I have a comparison measure to present positives and negatives to help those who are in a dilemma. The vivoactive does not have nice colors like the Huawei, it's like day and night. It is much slower and takes time to respond to screen changes, unlike the Huawei which is very fast. It accepts notifications and alerts you for calls without the ability to answer from the watch through headphones, unlike the Huawei which accepts and answers calls as it has a speaker and microphone. It is difficult to handle, it requires a lot of searching to understand where everything is, it is a bit confusing. It has a wide range of applications that you can download for free. It is a completely sporty watch, its measurements are amazing and the information it gives you about blood oxygen, heart rate, breathing, etc. It has many more activities than the Huawei and automatic exercise recognition, in some exercises it also has a graph with a little man that shows you the exercises correctly.
