Description

It wasn't murder... It wasn't rape... It wasn't torture... It was something much worse.

Three women disappear without a trace. One week is enough for the psychopath, known as the Mindbreaker, to destroy them. No one knows the method he uses, but by the seventh day, they will be psychologically dead, buried alive in their own bodies. One thing is known: the bizarre riddles he leaves with each of his victims.

Just before Christmas Eve, the Mindbreaker will strike again. In a luxurious psychiatric clinic outside Berlin, the snow falls thickly, making the place even more inaccessible and isolated. Doctors and patients realize with horror that the maniac who has been terrorizing the city for a long time is among them.

Trapped inside the clinic, their only way out is to unite to protect each other. But on a night of unspeakable terror like this, he will prove to them that there is no escape...

The story takes place during Christmas at a psychiatric clinic in Berlin. The protagonist is a mysterious man who is randomly found in this clinic, having suffered total amnesia, without remembering any information from his past. His compass in exploring his dark past will be the visions he occasionally experiences and the help of Dr. Sophia. Soon, however, the snowstorm will intensify, new patients will arrive at the clinic, and the "soul crusher" seeking his next victims will strike fatefully... I would say the story is quite original. Those who have dealt with Fitzek's previous readings may be able to predict some developments in the story. However, this particular author always has a way of surprising us. Because once again, nothing is as it seems...

Easy to read, keeps your interest and immerses you in the story. However, I found it quite exaggerated and towards the end a bit tiresome with the descriptions. I don't think I wasted my time, but I can't recommend it either. I would say it's mediocre

One of the best thriller books I have read. S. Fitzek is easy to read, grabs your interest from the first page and maintains it throughout. I recommend it, as well as his other books that I have read: The Position 7A & The Package (https://www.skroutz.gr/s/17758167/I-THesi-7a.html & https://www.skroutz.gr/s/14717370/To-Dema.html)

I was deceived by the reviews!
Many boring descriptions, the ending is completely irrelevant, you expect something dramatic and it ends completely foolishly!
I have read other books by the same author and I loved them, but this one was a waste of time!

This is the second book I've read by this particular author (the first one was "The Package"). It keeps you constantly on edge, resulting in finishing the book in just a few hours. The ending is unexpected. Congratulations!

The book is relatively good but only up to a certain point.

It starts off very well and ends somewhat decently. The issue is the middle part, specifically from around page 200 to 300, where it becomes slow. The characters are not anything special but I wouldn't say they are bad either. The writing style is decent but only up to a certain extent. The book benefits from the fairly good concept it has.

This is the first book I have read by Fitzek, so I cannot have a complete opinion.

I had high expectations so I didn't love it. However, I liked it. We read about a patient of a psychiatric clinic who suffers from amnesia. A let's say serial killer enters the clinic and chaos ensues. Good plot twist, no doubt about it. From the middle onwards, I admit that the book kept me more engaged and I raced through it.

It is the third book I am reading by this author.
One better than the other, with THE EXPERIMENT reaching the top for me.
At first, it didn't excite me, it seemed a bit messy with very few details about the protagonist, throwing you from one character to another without many explanations. However, the way it was written is unlike the others. Much more captivating than the previous ones and suspenseful. It doesn't have chapters, it is quite impressive, it could easily become a movie. Although from the beginning some things seemed to hint at the outcome, it didn't stop me at all.
    Fantastic.

Awesome book..! It's a psychological thriller mystery and it goes straight to the essence of the story without digressions and unnecessary descriptions. The first book I read by this author but surely more will follow.

I finished the book a few days ago. It is the first one I read from this author. Very well written and the good thing about his books is that he goes straight to the point. It doesn't tire you with many details before getting into the action. Throughout the book, from beginning to end, it has non-stop development and action, which makes you unable to put it down. The ending is completely unexpected. I suspected almost everyone and none of them were who I thought. You will truly be left with your mouth open when you read the ending, it's unbelievable

    Excellent book.

It was given to me as a gift and I opened it out of curiosity, as I'm not used to reading psychological thrillers. Eventually, I managed to get hooked and constantly wanted to know what happens next. As already mentioned in the other reviews, amazing writing and plot and an even better ending.

After reading this book, I definitely want to read more from the same author, as well as explore this genre of literature in general. I would definitely recommend it.
