Although someone can make cold brew with a pitcher and a cheesecloth, the Mizudashi makes the whole process easier. Of course, it has some limitations due to its size and design. The main limitation is that you cannot make a concentrate to dilute later, because the water needs to reach the top to touch the coffee, and it holds a maximum of 100 grams of coffee in the filter.
Most recipes suggest around 80 grams of coffee if I remember correctly, but I had good results with 1100 ml of water and 100 grams of coffee ground somewhere between filter machine and Aeropress. I make it in the afternoon so that it spends about 16 hours in the fridge until the next morning, and it is concentrated enough to take 2-3 ice cubes.
Beautiful and looks quality. I've been using it for a few weeks.
The mesh looks like plastic film. It's so fine that you can't tell by touch that it's a net!
Due to its elongated shape, you have to fill it all the way to the top with water for the coffee to brew. That is, if you want to make half the amount, you can't, because if you fill it halfway with water, the water won't reach the coffee!
However, it's convenient for the fridge to be elongated. They could have made the coffee container taller so that you can make a smaller amount.
Nice and in terms of quality, but in order for the water to reach the point where the coffee is, the coffee needs to be very diluted. It's like something hasn't been done well in the design
As construction is excellent..the glass is also high quality and looks nice.
The same goes for the filter...
You just need to find the right coffee flavor and experiment a few times.
For Cold Brew, it's just what you need. I bought a second jug because my first one broke. It needs a little attention, the glass is not thick. Otherwise, I couldn't find anything better as an alternative, based on capacity (about 1,150ml). So, okay, choose it freely
You enjoy the taste of coffee with all the aromas without being exposed to high temperatures, so it is lighter on the stomach due to low acidity. It brings out all the notes without the "burnt" taste of the espresso machine. Ask for freshly ground coffee for French press (coarse grind), put it in the filter before going to sleep, slowly adding room temperature water and gently stirring the coffee. A 3-minute process to have 1 liter of incredible company all day from the next morning, maybe even for 2 or 3 days, depending on how much you drink! We put it with my girlfriend every night and it more than covers us for a day! Experiment with TAF Costa Rica or Panama coffee and you will remember me!
You enjoy an excellent cold coffee from the jug, especially when you put it in the refrigerator at night and consume it in the morning. Be careful with handling it, as its thickness is particularly thin.
Very good pitcher, with the well-known Hario quality (made in Japan). It makes a decent cold brew. The pitcher's filter has a mesh and requires coarse ground coffee. In 8 hours, you have a very light and refreshing cold brew, like cold tea.
In 12-16 hours, you have a darker cold brew with better body and more intense flavor.
In 24 hours, you have a very strong, pitch-black cold brew with a very intense flavor and a lot of caffeine!
Hario recommends 80 grams of coffee for 1 liter of water and 8 hours.
The filter can hold up to 100 grams of coffee in 1 liter, making it stronger and more intense if someone prefers it that way.
The glass of the pitcher is indeed very delicate, and I believe that if it hits something, there is a high chance of it breaking immediately, so I use it with great care.
The pitcher comfortably fits in all refrigerators, in diameter it is like a 1.5-liter water bottle, and approximately the same in height.
Very fragile, the glass bottom broke into pieces when it touched a nearby glass bottle in the refrigerator. Construction weak point: the weight of the water combined with the light shake from the simple touch caused it to collapse.
