The soul according to Theologian Gregory consists of three parts. He named virtue that is accomplished with the powers of reason as prudence, understanding, and wisdom; virtue from the potential, courage and patience; and virtue that is accomplished from desire, he named love, temperance, and self-control. Justice is scattered within all of these and makes them act in the appropriate way. With prudence, it fights against opposing forces and defends virtues. With temperance, it sees things with indifference. With love, it persuades to love all people as oneself. With self-control, it limits every pleasure. With courage and patience, it arms itself for invisible wars. All of these are the harmony that composes the melodious instrument of the SOUL.
