Dissolved, moving shapes - the multiple anxiety
and the insidious fluidity - hearing the noise of water all around you
unstable, deep, uncontrollable and you uncontrollable, almost free.
They came, soon, bewildered women
and some old men together, with jugs, pots, pans,
they took water for the needs of the house. The water took positions.
The river fell silent as if it had emptied. It was getting dark. The doors closed.
Only one woman, without a jug, remained outside, in the garden,
transparent, watery in the moonlight, with a flower in her hair.
