The adventure is increasingly sought after by people in alpine-style ascents on the cliffs and peaks of Vardousia and Giona. In the new map Giona-Vardousia 1:25,000, we have added exploration and adventure routes. The exploration routes are our testimony that this journey can be done even if there is no visible trail. The adventure routes have different levels of difficulty, from easy scrambling to climbing passages, while rappelling points are also marked.

Vardousia offers a view for every taste: from the forgotten northern range, to the spectacular crossing of the southern ridge and the more technical ascents of Kopsi Koraka and Plaka-Pyramida.

In Giona, everything revolves around the imposing Pyramida and the endless "rocky area" of its western side, with the technical routes of Karagianni and Bekou. However, the map offers many more alternatives, such as the classic Reka or the short paths to Arsalis and the Mager cave.

For the mountaineer, the view from the summit is the reward after the arduous ascent. This book takes the next step. It unfolds amazing panoramas, offering us the keys to a new reading of the geography and geomorphology, as well as the incredible variety and beauty of the mountains of Roumeli.
