Thus, this work clearly constitutes a later timeless guide for any penetrating future researcher who wishes to fully and comprehensively illuminate a specific thematic aspect in a specific southern Peloponnese geographical area during this period.

"Southern Peloponnese 1935-1950" attempts, taking into account the existing bibliography for this period in every place within its geographical radius (Southern Ilia, Southern Arcadia, Messinia, Laconia), to synthesize the data and interpretations and to offer new elements about the region, the specific time period, or even new interpretive perspectives that the authors of the articles put forward. In the pages of the work, we travel with the authors on a fascinating journey through the history of the region. We unravel the waves of violence in the region and their interpretations from different perspectives, we observe the economic data that shaped the development of the place, we learn about the central fermentations regarding the local events of the region, we compare the self-government initiatives and the post-war echoes with similar cases in neighboring areas, we examine autobiographical texts of people who participated in the political and cultural life of the place, and we comment on the cultural life of major southern Peloponnesian cities.

Thus, the volume can be a useful tool for researchers of the period or students of the history of the region, and at the same time, it can inform every citizen of the wider area or originating from it about events and situations in southern Peloponnese during a "difficult" period, the period 1935-1950.
