Oscillatory and wave phenomena are manifested in various areas of Physics, such as Mechanics, Electromagnetism, Optics, and Quantum Mechanics. They are also connected to the phenomena of Chaos and Self-organization. H. J. Pain's book "Physics of Oscillations and Waves" uniquely highlights the unity among all these phenomena. In Greek literature, books with similar characteristics are scarce. There is, of course, a wide variety of university textbooks on Introductory Physics. However, because these textbooks represent a first approach to presenting Physics, they do not emphasize the unity that exists among seemingly different topics. This book represents the next step towards the unification of oscillatory and wave phenomena.
