The installation process is very difficult, the printer requires internet registration through an HP account, and then it downloads useless peripheral programs (known as bloatware) just to receive notifications to buy toner from HP! I installed it and registered, then uninstalled all the programs and kept only the drivers. Now it works properly (Windows 10/11). Toner is expensive and not easily found. After about 6 months, I have to say it does its job, but I wouldn't buy it again.
It gave me a little trouble during installation mainly because everything leads you to use the internet, but there is also the option to use it only with USB.
It prints quickly and well.
As for the toner....there are always compatible ones that work just as well!
To dwe means that whoever buys it got scammed... it couldn't be installed on any PC except through communication and coordination with the company and simultaneously creating an account on HP. Finally, the original toner has the ridiculous price of 55 euros...
DO NOT BUY IT!!!!
STAY AWAY
Truly the worst thing that exists in an HP printer (and our company only has HP printers). This e (in dwe) is simply a cross that any user who buys it will bear. It needs to always be connected to the internet to work - otherwise, it will print one page and then print a sheet that requires internet connection. If you make the mistake of losing connection to the HP cloud, God help you with how to reconnect it to the cloud. I had spoken with HP Greece when we first got it and even they didn't know about this terrible feature of this printer. Needless to say, to find toner in the market, you have to pray and maybe if you're lucky, you'll find someone who has 1-2 toners to serve you. And when they run out, they tell you to wait 30 or 60 days for toner to come again. Even if they gave it to us for free, we wouldn't buy it again, not even as a joke.
Hello,
Stay away from the HP LaserJet M209dwe printer. There is also the M209dw printer, without the "e" at the end, prefer that one. I placed the order from a store and the printer, besides needing a continuous internet connection to function, also came defective, with a sticker-cap on its USB port (something that does not exist on the dw model). This resulted in me having to contact HP and prove that there is indeed a problem. It should be noted that the store informed me that the M209dwe and the M209dw have absolutely no difference, except for a promotional discount that HP+ offers for ink cartridges. Regardless, be careful with these HP models.
P.S: If you cannot connect through HP Smart on your PC, download the application on your mobile and try from there initially...
Attention to this printer and the ***dwe series.
It may seem strange, but that's how it is. The printer does NOT work without an internet connection.
If the internet connection goes down, the printer stops printing after a few prints until the internet comes back and syncs with the HP Cloud.
Internet connection is required regardless of whether it is USB, WIFI, or Ethernet connection.
These are mentioned in the HP manual but not mentioned by anyone else.
Unbelievable, yet true.
Personally, I connected it to my PC with both USB and WIFI to the router, and every time the internet went down (which happened quite often), it would give me trouble until it came back.
