I bought this particular coffee maker because it was supposed to be one of the best, but the coffee it makes is terrible. It has a burnt taste, while the steam wand works great. I believe that for its price, its biggest flaw is the coffee. I even bought a grinder to grind the coffee, but still, it doesn't compare to another coffee maker I had bought for private use at the store, which was a Krups and made much better coffee for half the price than the Gaggia I have at home. I would not buy a Gaggia coffee maker again, it's not worth the money I spent. I gave it two stars only for the steam wand, otherwise I would have given it one star.
I have had it for seven and a half years and it makes about 3 coffees daily.

Together with the Gaggia Carezza Deluxe, I use an Ascaso I-1 steel grinder.
It is true that you need to find the right grind size for the type of coffee you prefer (but this applies to all non-automatic coffee machines).

Regarding the milk frother, I have removed the plastic (black) part from the nozzle and I only use it with the internal metal part.

Because it is not automatic, it requires a specific coffee grind (from a good grinder and not a cheap one that burns the coffee while grinding it) or a pre-ground coffee that will match the machine and your taste (usually finer grind). Apart from the descaling that the machine needs, it hasn't had any issues for so many years... I have the feeling that in few coffee shops I enjoy the coffee as much as my own... And I don't think it's tiring to clean the basket or to stop the flow of coffee yourself...
It has paid off its price and more until today!!
I have the Deluxe Gaggia machine for 2 years now. I bought it from Heraklion for 240 euros. If I rate the best coffee I drink outside as a 10, then I rate the coffee I drink at home as a 7-7.5. Of course, I reserve the right to re-evaluate once I buy the grinding mill, so that the comparison is fair. In terms of functionality, it is flawless without any issues. I am surprised by the problems I read in other reviews.
I have spent more money on its services than what the machine does. At first, the thermostat was burning, I changed it 3-4 times and stopped making frothy milk... then its hoses were leaking water... then its gaskets... overall, I got tired of fixing it
Stay away. We saw and read many good reviews about this specific machine and in the end, we bought it thinking that we got a pretty good machine. Unfortunately, the machine is a complete disappointment. It is quite noisy, it doesn't automatically stop when it brews a coffee, and it also requires a whole day off for cleaning.
Since we bought it on 22/10/2021, on 5/12/21 it started leaking. After contacting the dealership, they told us it needed cleaning. We bought the cleaning kit, cleaned it, and it still leaked. We took it to the service center where they kept it for 4 days just to tell us that it had a small piece that needed cleaning. Today, as I was making coffee, the latch turned by itself. The same thing happens even if the latch is empty. I'm sorry for the money we spent - 250€, with a little more we could have bought an automatic one.
I have had this machine for almost 9 years and it works perfectly. It is not automatic, which means you need to know 5 things about coffee. Firstly, you need a grinder to properly grind the coffee, in order to achieve the desired foam. And definitely, you need good coffee, either Hausbrand or Lavazza Blue in whole bean form. The coffee is always tasty without being burnt. Now, as for the milk froth, the more fat the milk has (from 3.5% and above), the better it will turn out. And it always requires cleaning and descaling to keep it working for years. It is not a machine for someone who is not interested. You have to enjoy your coffee to appreciate this machine. Otherwise, go for a capsule one.

I have had the machine for over a year and have used it very few times because my job is as a barista, so I am usually covered by the amount of coffee I drink at work. However, if I were satisfied, I would use it more. I have tried various coffees from different shops and the machine has never produced a result better than "okay, drinkable". I also have my own grinder at home, so I have played around a lot with the grams, grind size, and ml of the beverage, but nothing. I don't get the result I want and after several attempts, I believe it is the machine's fault and not mine. Even though I run the coffee for the right amount of time, the taste comes out burnt, like a drink after over-extraction. Not something very intense, meaning if someone wants the machine to drink a mediocre coffee in the morning when they wake up, they won't have a problem, but for me, I have coffee as a pleasure, not as a routine. You might say I should have spent more money, and I will answer that it produces a result of a 100€ machine and not a 200€ one.
I have had it for about 3 years. For household-semi professional use, it's worth the money. The result of coffee in the cup differs from variety to variety and also the grinding of the coffee. For example, since I don't have a grinder, I buy pre-ground coffee and I have the best result with Lavazza Rosa. I have had the machine for about 5 months. It makes good coffee like a professional machine, but this means that there are negatives for home use. Just like professional machines, in order to achieve the right coffee quality with the right crema, you need to have properly freshly ground high-quality coffee, the machine and the group need to be properly heated and clean, the right amount of coffee needs to be pressed, and the right amount of coffee needs to be let into the cup. If all of these steps are followed, this machine will produce the same exact coffee as a professional one. However, it is difficult to do all of these steps at home due to time constraints and mainly cost. I have tried all of the above and this specific machine is worth it and it is worth comparing it to the cost and maintenance of a professional machine that I compared it to using the same coffee and process. However, if you buy pre-ground coffee from the supermarket or the coffee shop, things change, especially if you don't follow the correct process that I described above. I have tried packaged coffees (one package every 15 days): Jakobs (arabica, intenso), Lavazza (rossa, crema, gold qualita ORO), illy (classico), and dimello (forca, aroma, mezzo). Only Lavazza Gold qualita ORO produces the right crema and taste according to my taste buds as it should, with the correct process. Also, dimello forca produces a medium to good crema in combination with nice coffee. All the other coffees produce better crema but not the same good aroma and taste as my old izzy retro coffee maker from 2007, which cost 75 euros back then. So, if I compare it now to a simple machine that costs 70-100 euros, it is expensive and it is difficult to use in order to achieve the right result. If you choose it, you will also need to purchase a cleaning brush and a tamper press. For me, it is worth it because I enjoy the process of making coffee. If you don't have the same philosophy, spend 1/3 of the cost on another machine
I have had the machine for 1.5 months, which was a gift from my wife. The coffee it makes for its price is terrible, even a Krupps machine worth 40 euros makes better coffee. The foam or crema is non-existent, it is like beaten NES with some bubbles/foam that is mainly created by the distance between the spouts and the cup, which is relatively large. The extraction from the 2 spouts is not the same, the left one extracts twice as much as the right one, resulting in one cup being very full and the other one being very empty when you put 2 cups together. Also, coffee from pods with the other filter it has inside is simply undrinkable! It is neither, nor does it resemble espresso. And I use Illy pods, which are the best outside in terms of capsules. I have already taken it back to the dealership for inspection because I cannot believe that such a machine produces this kind of coffee, which you can't even call espresso!
I have had the machine for 2 years and I am completely satisfied, for a home machine.
1. The construction is plastic but for its price it is very good as for a metal machine like the lelit, you have to pay 450€.
2. It makes very good coffee, given that it has pre-infusion. It is important that the double basket holds 18g of coffee, while cheaper machines hold much less coffee.
3. If you convert the portafilter to non-pressurized (there is a relevant video on youtube), with a grinder (correct grinding) and a tamper (correct tamping), it makes excellent crema instead of foam, similar to expensive machines.
4. I have removed the paranello nozzle and I use only the pipe. It has very good pressure for a home machine and makes excellent frothed milk for cappuccino, latte, and even hot chocolate, it just takes more time compared to professional ones.
5. Cleaning is easy, just level the coffee with a tamper and use an angled brush.
6. The noise level is tolerable, contrary to other comments I read. The machine works with a 15-bar pump pressure, do not expect it to be silent.
7. The portafilter is not made of brass like the professional ones, that's why it doesn't require a hammer-like hit to remove the coffee.
In general, it is one of the best economical home machines that can make all kinds of drinks. If combined with a good grinder, you can achieve very good results.

However, because I had a little accident and the handle broke, I ordered another one that I paid 70 euros for. I bought the espresso machine and after a few coffees, when I make the froth, it gets blocked and the thermostat burns. I went and had it replaced once in Athens and once in Thessaloniki service centers, and now it's burning again. Obviously, it's a manufacturing mistake. I have had the machine ready for 2.5 years with daily use. However, I only make espresso and I have no opinion on the nozzle. At first, I was disappointed because I was using pre-ground coffee from a Coffee Shop and I couldn't achieve the right grind. Until I bought the illy and dimello packages. Now I can't even drink espresso outside. It just takes a little patience to find the dosage you like. I consider it to be a fairly good construction. The only downside is that even though I have descaled it several times, the light continues to turn on.
I bought it 1.5 years ago. I spent so much money on it and it's not worth it. It's only good if you want it for its appearance... it's noisy. Sometimes, during coffee time, it gets stuck, meaning the machine stops and makes an annoying sound

Simply the best I have worked with in a household appliance and the best coffee I have ever had from a household machine. Very good build quality, elegant, relatively quiet, very good coffee (I prefer to use freshly ground coffee in small quantities with a grind size of 2.2), easy to clean, its group is high-quality and incomparable to other machines, it just requires some research because it is a machine that can do a lot (there are videos on YouTube that you can consult). The disadvantage of it is that it does not have the professional coffee filter that Gaggia provides in the Baby and Classic models. On the other hand, I'm not sure if the professional filter makes any difference. This specific one makes a perfect coffee.
Also, it is very easy for the nozzle pipe to come out of its position when you clean the plastic part (so you cannot descale it), and it cannot be easily repositioned. It needs to be repaired at the dealership. It is good to buy an extra milk frother.

I bought it after some research for 2-3 weeks on various discussion sites. Given that I couldn't find the old good Gaggia machines anymore (from the pre-Philips era if I understood correctly...), I judged that it gathered good comments for a machine of around 220 euros (I'm not an expert of course... just a regular user). I have used it about 10 times and so far it hasn't caused me any issues. Satisfied for now... I hope it continues like this... We are here to write comments again.
Awesome machine.......it also makes froth and makes nice coffee and heats up quickly and has a nice appearance and everything....for 200 euros, it's great......now, as for the froth that some people say......I, who have tried lavazza and dimello, it makes great froth....as for milk foam or chocolate, I don't even discuss it..........as for negatives....yes, it makes noise....but almost all HOME machines make noise, even those that cost 500 euros....but this one doesn't shake the house....we're talking about normal levels compared to more expensive machines that make more noise.......and another negative but insignificant for me is that we simply need to check the water level because it's not visible if there isn't enough light....it's worth it and more.....for me, always.........just because we are Greeks and experts in everything.....we always see everything negatively (in general).....including myself......HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO EVERYONE WITH HEALTH!!!!
Although I don't have experience with other coffee makers, what I know is that it makes good coffee. It makes quite a bit of noise in my opinion, but I don't think it's a big deal. The build quality is very good and the daily cleaning is relatively easy. I haven't done a thorough cleaning yet. I am very satisfied with one month of use.

It is a terrible machine. In the 2.5 years that I have had it, I took it for service twice.
The first time it short-circuited and blew the fuse. The second time, when I made coffee and turned it off, it continued to run water for about 1 minute. Now it leaks a little water when I make coffee, and when I asked for steam, it stopped working. I am disappointed with the effort I put in each time and the descaling I did when the light came on.

Before the Gaggia 1850watt, I had a multi-purpose United 2050watt machine, which, although theoretically cheap at 90 euros, performed very well. However, after 6 years, it broke down and I couldn't find the same model.
So, I have a comparison criterion with the Gaggia, which is considered and is expensive.
Well, I can't say that I was crazy about the foam. Yes, it produces foam, but not as advertised on YouTube. Of course, the blend may play a role. I use Jacobs ground coffee. With the same blend and the same foam, I achieved the same result with the cheap United machine I had.
However, the huge difference is in the steam wand for frothing milk.
While with the United machine, you needed some skill to achieve it, with the Gaggia, even an inexperienced person can achieve perfect results in milk frothing. In fact, I use fresh, full cream milk and not special milks that are available on the market for frothing!
In summary,
The machine has a sturdy construction.

And it didn't impress me with the foam, but as I said, the blend may play a role
