Absolutely satisfied. Of course, to achieve sound clarity, a little tweaking in the settings is needed. With a Samsung Neo QLED 8K TV, it has provided a cinematic experience in the living room. I also tested it with a regular smart TV, but it didn't have the same performance. So perhaps the TV plays a role too.
I recently upgraded to the Sony HT-S40R 5.1 Home Cinema system and have been very impressed. The 600W output delivers powerful, immersive sound quality for 5.1 , and the wireless rear speakers add convenient flexibility.
Unfortunately as advised and by other reviewers we are "loosing" some mid sounds with result to have the volume around 70/100 to lister properly.
Overall, it’s an excellent choice for enhancing home entertainment with rich, cinematic audio for this price.
For simple use of movies and music, it's great! I read the negative reviews and was somewhat influenced, but I don't know what those users want. For us, it's very good!
I have tried several speaker devices either 5.1 or 2.1 or amplifiers...
Their sound is unacceptable and cannot be fixed in any way, they have no settings like EQ or any program
they only play Dolby Digital, if you have Dts movies they do not produce sound
if the price was between 100-150 then it would be fair for what they provide
Complete disappointment
Unfortunately, unfortunately, I did not listen to Kostaras1979. Very easy and fast connection with the LG TV and BT, and all very simple connection with optical. The display is small but it gets the job done, it doesn't make things difficult. Playing music from YouTube at high volume is okay (not nice, not perfect, just okay, satisfactory), at 600W I expected much, much stronger performance and cleaner sound, but at medium volume, you simply can't understand what they're saying and it distorts the sounds! It sounds like noise without clarity of sound. When connected to a 55' LG TV from 2020, you have to have it at 70/100 to hear anything, which is unacceptable, the TV speakers play much louder! For anyone who has heard some quality in sound in their life, this product is a joke, you see the 600W and you think it's Sony, but it's not worth it at all, not even for the 240€ I bought it for from Kotsovolos, unfortunately, though it CANNOT be returned. I know it's free in 5.1, but it's NOT WORTH IT. The subwoofer is very good compared to the rest of the disappointing performance. The build quality is very good, cable length is more than enough. If you have low expectations and just want to listen to music a little louder than the TV, okay, but if you expect 600W sound performance and clear, powerful music, then NO. I would have gladly paid twice as much, but unfortunately, I chose without listening to it first.
I will try to be as objective as possible. Owner of Samsung Q70R 55 inch from 2019. I read all the comments and to tell the truth I had good (not great) expectations. However, I understood that it is not easy to make the right sound choice because each case and review is made under different conditions from your own. For example, TV, space, and others. I will explain why I reached the point of returning the product......... but that doesn't mean it's not a decent sound system. (For its price) As you will see in the video (that I uploaded) watching TV from terrestrial channels, this system literally cuts off all mid frequencies! It cuts them compared to the TV speakers. As a result, I constantly have the volume at levels 70-80 (close to the maximum) in order to hear half of what I hear at 1/10 volume of the TV speakers. Yes, it has clear sound but......... half the frequencies of the TV speakers. I tried to set it up to see if anything changes......... but nothing. In Dolby digital 5.1 format that I have movies...... the situation is corrected......... but still the same............. mid frequencies non-existent. Let's go to a very important........ speech......... and there the same........ the sound is clear yes........ but half. You will tell me so many here write other things........... but is it with the model of my TV? Do we have the same comparison measure? Please, when some read my review. Knowing that the system only plays Dolby digital 5.1, I tried it with videos in this format but also with videos encoded in Dolby Atmos, dts, I had everything on my hard drive. Unfortunately, the result was the same. I really wanted to keep it but not for me. I will have to go to another system and I have to look for it. Nevertheless, it is a good sound system with nice 5.1 sound ALWAYS and I emphasize for its price!!! Because for me the cost and value for money is the first factor in comparing products. I will have to go for something more sophisticated and certainly more expensive
Objectively, it must be one of the best sound systems that I have personally experienced in my 62 years! As you can see from the photo of Lara Fabian on the television that I have posted, despite the fact that I watched her live at Taekwando in Faliro, I can confidently say that, at least in my ears, the sound with the SONY system was even better.
Excellent speakers in every aspect except for 2 things:
1. With HDMI Arc, when you turn on the TV, they turn on as well, but then they randomly disconnect and you have to turn them on again from their remote control. It's like they go into sleep mode, but they don't come back on. It could also be the TV's fault, of course. Now I have connected them with optical, which requires turning them on every time anyway, but at least now they don't disconnect.
2. All the settings are done through a small black and white screen on the bass in collaboration with the remote control. I was so disappointed that I didn't even bother for 5 minutes. Couldn't they have added the option to adjust settings through an app?
However, I have no complaints about the sound quality, and their build quality is very good.
I found it for 250€. For its price, it is a quality product with good sound and surround. It connects to the TV via HDMI arc. It is plug and play (more or less). The surround didn't work on the TV at first, but then it fixed itself. It was probably a TV glitch. The Bluetooth connection with other devices is easy and fast. I am quite satisfied, once again Sony did not disappoint me. Just be careful, for those connecting it to a TV, it does NOT include the HDMI cable, you have to buy it! And it is mandatory for the connection...
I believe it is the suitable sound system to enter the world of home cinema. I haven't heard other sound systems to compare, but I really like what I hear. The installation is very easy. The surround speakers have a 5-meter cable, so you can place them at any distance you want. I would like the power cables to be a little longer. In terms of connectivity, I have connected it to the TV with HDMI ARC. It also connects instantly with Bluetooth. The volume is very good and the sound is crystal clear. I would like it to have a bit more bass, of course. In a few words, it is value for money. At the price of €260 that I bought it, I don't think there is anything better. And let's not forget Sony's warranty. A purchase with closed eyes.
Also, it is a very good combination with the PS5. Gaming goes to another level.
Excellent sound both in movies and music. When connected to a Sony TV via Bluetooth, it does not deliver Dolby Digital 5.1 but stereo. As soon as it was connected with HDMI, everything went smoothly. The downside is the menu. It does not appear on the TV even with HDMI connection, so it can only be controlled through the subwoofer. However, it is definitely worth the extra money, as the options for 5.1 systems are minimal nowadays.
It was placed above the TV because it had better sound dispersion compared to below.
The speaker set is amazing and worth every penny of the 250 euros I bought it for. It was connected to a 58-inch TCL via HDMI.
The sound is unique, crystal clear, and the bass is deep and powerful. The bar can be mounted on the wall or placed on furniture.
The only drawback I noticed is that when I adjust the volume from the TV remote control, it takes a long time to increase/decrease the volume compared to its own remote control.
Other than that, it is flawless.
I was torn between the LG Full Set Home Cinema 5.1 LHB655NW 1000W Black and the specific Sony after researching and reading reviews about the LG, I avoided it as it has many issues in general and I didn't want to deal with that. So, I ended up with the Sony...!!! Words are unnecessary, the quality and sound are impeccable, it reaches up to 100 volume in sound, 12 volume in bass and it doesn't distort... The connection takes 3 minutes to enter the menu, it's user-friendly and very easy to use, I didn't even read the instructions... I hung the speakers on a 15 wall with holes easily... It always has cables, it has optical inside for the TV and if you don't want that, there's also Bluetooth... I highly recommend it, Sony is my guarantee, the construction impressed me a lot, very sturdy and beautiful, large sub, nice grilles on the speakers, it's perfect for what you pay for...!!! I bought it for 299 and had it in 3 days... It's day and night compared to the TV speakers, of course, but it's top-notch...
It's really good value for money, especially at the 250 I got it for on Black Friday. It has optical fiber in the box. I connected it to an LG TV with an HDMI cable and it works with the TV remote to control the volume of the home cinema. (Just follow the instructions on how to transfer sound through an optical cable when connected with HDMI).
Great sound system.. I use it for movies and music and it's quite powerful.. The installation is very easy, personally I connected it with the included optical cable!
I bought it in 03/2022 for 380 euros, after searching for quite some time (over 1 and a half years). For its price, quality, ease of connection (5 minutes tops) and design, I think it's one of the best choices. It suited me very well because I have a living room with very limited space, so with just 4 nails on the wall, I hung the speakers and amplifier (the dimensions and weight are negligible, which is a big plus). The main advantage, of course, is the wireless connection, which is also the system's biggest asset, as the sound and bass quality surprised me for wireless. The only thing one should be careful about is if they hang the rear speakers on the wall like I did, to place thin cardboard made of cork material (like wine bottles) because at high volumes, the plastic can rub against the wall and alter the sound.
Connection to LG 4K TV model 19 with optical fiber (always).
The system packaging is very compact and easy to transport by one person.
600W is more than enough (I was thinking about 1000W at first). High volume in sound and bass at the limits of annoyance at 65/100 and 10/12.
The only negative (if anyone considers it as such) is the lack of a screen for menu management and settings. It's very small and proportional, I find it a bit difficult to use but it doesn't bother me much.
In conclusion, great value for money.
