Louise raises her son Sam alone, her "little magician" as she calls him, the only one who can bring some joy to the life she has rebuilt with great difficulty after a terrible mourning and years of wandering. Her old partner harasses and abuses her, and one day her path will cross with police officer Zourdan. This man, melancholic, rebellious and exhausted alternately, investigates with his team a series of women's murders: a killer prowls the streets of Bordeaux, an ordinary and terrifying person driven by a destructive obsession.
