"Lifelong Learning" is perhaps the most important priority in an era of rapid devaluation of knowledge, intense rearrangements, and rapid changes on a global level.

"Distance Education" can play a significant role in implementing Lifelong Learning, as it ensures flexibility in space, time, and pace of learning.

Modern transmission technologies, particularly Teleconferencing under pedagogical conditions, contribute significantly to the implementation of collaborative distance learning environments.

The purpose of this collective volume is to highlight the pedagogical and technological aspects of educational utilization of teleconferencing, presenting comprehensive distance education applications designed and implemented in the field of Greek higher education.

The 30 authors who contributed to the creation of this book are members of academic staff, young researchers, and technical managers of advanced telecommunication services from 12 Greek universities and technological educational institutions (TEIs) and 4 foreign universities.

The nine chapters published in this collective volume, following a double-blind peer review process, concern case studies of pedagogical utilization of teleconferencing for:

- Teacher training
- Undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Greek higher education
- Pedagogical utilization of teleconferencing infrastructure in universities and TEIs in the country.

The book is addressed to educators at all levels, trainers of informal and formal post-secondary education, researchers, designers, and managers of academic and training programs who wish to utilize modern transmission technologies, particularly teleconferencing, in their offered study programs.
