This book by Krishnamurti gives the feeling that it was written today, although it is a selection of short texts from his entire work, from a fifty-year career. With these texts, a comprehensive presentation of Krishnamurti's perspective on the crisis in the world and, by extension, the crisis we are going through in the modern era is given. He says: "It is a tremendous crisis that politicians will never be able to end, nor will scientists be able to understand or finish, nor will the business world, the world of money. The end of this situation is not found in politics, in the church, or in the world of science; the end is found within our consciousness, within you." Because, as he emphasizes elsewhere: "When there is a radical change in a human being, it brings about, naturally, a radical change in the structure and nature of society. And this change cannot start from the outside, but from within us."
