The new book by Kostas Chrysogonos is addressed to both the legal community of our country and to every citizen who is concerned about its course in the era of memoranda. It is the condensed expression of the author's concern for this course, which threatens to lead us to the collapse of the Constitution. The memorandum whirlwind brings about the holocaust of social and economic rights in the name of fiscal emergency and the (supposed) avoidance of disorderly bankruptcy and exit from the eurozone.

At the same time, however, the substantive content of political rights is sacrificed, as their exercise proves that it cannot affect the current policy. Individual rights remain, but even their undermining may simply be a matter of time...

"The regime of debtocracy is not sustainable in the long run. The question is whether after its collapse there will follow a deep and substantial democratization of the Greek state or, on the contrary, a regression towards even more unseemly forms of authoritarianism."
