Description
Robert Nozick (1938-2002), Professor of Philosophy at Harvard University, is famous for his contribution to political philosophy. His book Anarchy, State, and Utopia helped establish libertarianism as a viable alternative to redistributive liberalism and egalitarian communism. Nozick's classic arguments have been a source of extensive scholarly and political dialogue in both center-left and center-right circles.
This book, published by the Fraser Institute of Canada, a liberal think tank, provides an overview of Nozick's fundamental views on individual rights, minimal and limited government, and free markets. According to him, the foundation of all government policies should solely be the protection of individual rights, and thus extensive government intervention in citizens' lives is unjustified. Robert Nozick studied at Columbia and Princeton universities before becoming a Professor of Philosophy at Harvard.
Papadopoulos Publications, in collaboration with KEFIM, presents a series of short biographies of ideas by some of the great figures of political and economic liberalism, as originally presented by the Canadian Fraser Institute. This book provides an overview of Robert Nozick's fundamental views on individual rights, minimal and limited government, and free markets.
