Haier Washing Machine 9kg with Steam 1400 RPM HW90-B14959U1
Series 5, with wifi. (Something I didn't know, Haier is a Chinese multinational that has acquired companies such as Candy, General Electric, Fisher, etc.)
So, purchased for 500 euros in 5/2024.
It is quite silent due to the operation of the drum without belts but with the motor on the drum.
(Care should be taken during installation to be leveled because even a slight imbalance can cause vibrations, which can make the spinning noisier or even break the drum.)
Programs: 12.
Smart, Mix, Synthetics, Quick 15, Refresh, Cotton 20°C, Remote Control, Cotton, Allergy Care / Baby Care, Wool, Spin, Eco Cotton 40-60
However, with the Hon (Haier-on) app, you have access to another 20 personalized programs, such as bed linens, towels, underwear, etc.
Both from the washing machine and the app, you can modify the operation.
Meaning, you can change: (of course there are programs that have a range of these)
RPM (0-400-600-800-1000-1200-1400)
Temperatures (_-20-30-40-60-90)
Rinse (add additional rinses, +1 - +2 - +3)
Wash time (add extra minutes to the wash for dirtier clothes)
Delay time (every 30 minutes up to 24 hours)
Only from the washing machine, you can set the steam function which adds 20 minutes of steam before the end of the cycle for antibacterial action, but I see it more for fewer wrinkles.
Only from the Hon app, you can set a rinse-only cycle, and only from the app, you can set a prewash. From the app, you cannot add steam to other cycles. It has a separate steam cycle.
Personally, I use the app because it details how many kilos each cycle can handle, how many rinses it will do, how long the wash will be clean, and I can add a prewash. It also shows you how many washes you have done so you can perform maintenance cycles, clean the drawer and the filter.
The app also has a "Keep Fresh" option that essentially means if you start a wash at 12 and it finishes at 2, until 8 when you wake up, every 10 minutes it will do 4 spins to keep the clothes in motion so they don't bleed colors into each other and to prevent wrinkles.
In terms of economy, it depends on the wash you choose, how many kilos, how long, how many degrees. I would rate it as moderate to good compared to the previous Samsung Eco Bubble 7kg.
In terms of reliability, time will tell. I will come back in a year to say if it has dropped in quality.
I will also come back soon with videos of some programs, to hear the noise, etc.
In unexpected positives, whenever it pours water, there is a nozzle that sprays water on the door directly so that no soap residues remain.
Finally, it has been observed that if you add a little extra soap, the cycle will increase in time before rinsing to drain as much soap as possible, which is very positive.
As an extra tip, from personal experience, never get a washing machine base with wheels. No matter how leveled it is, the washing machine will move and make more noise.
