No problem so far on file server PC. It won't be working many hours, I don't intend to have it 24/7, so with the specifications it has for NAS, I hope and wish that they will hold up well (I bought 2). Its price is very good for what it promises
First of all, let me say that I am a fan of Western Digital for over 15 years.... After doing some research, I found out that this hard drive is the most advanced one available until May 2024, when I ordered it... Let's talk about performance a bit....
1. The speeds you will see on this hard drive, provided that your system can utilize it, are from 200 MB per second and above in file transfer.... however...
2. Any file smaller than its cache, which is 512 MB, is transferred directly or almost directly, giving an SSD and M.2-like sensation.... Having 4 different SSDs and one M.2 with transfer speeds of over 7 gigabytes per second, I can say this with certainty.
3. The sound from the needles is only audible during large file transfers.... And it's not loud, meaning the room must be completely quiet.... If someone has more than 5-6 fans in their computer or if an air conditioner is running, they will cover up this sound.
4. It is quite heavy and has a solid, sturdy construction.
5. There is no fear of temperature issues.
6. If someone sets up a RAID with two of these drives, they achieve SSD speeds with a capacity of 20 TB.
