Dead Rising 2 is the sequel to the successful Dead Rising, which sold millions of copies worldwide. The player takes on the role of former motorcycle racing champion Chuck Greene, who has come to Fortune City, America's new gambling capital, to compete in "Terror is Reality," a gruesome game show where participants must survive in environments filled with zombies, winning large cash prizes and providing unparalleled entertainment to the television audience. Chuck's motivation for risking his life is his daughter Katey, who was infected by a zombie and now needs a daily dose of the drug Zombrex to prevent her from turning into a living dead. Zombrex is effective but also very expensive, as it is the only drug on the market that can save people infected by zombies.
