The The Garmin Epix Pro (Gen 2) Sapphire Edition is a smartwatch with a touchscreen that can be connected to a mobile (smartphone) Android or iOS. It has NFC for contactless payments (where supported) or pairing between devices. It is mainly aimed at those interested in a smartwatch with multiple functions and capabilities for monitoring their health and physical condition. It can be used for swimming in the sea και between its capabilities, it stands out for its GPS, step and distance tracking, and built-in heart rate monitor.
With the heart rate monitor, the Epix Pro (Gen 2) Sapphire Edition will be able to accurately detect your heart rate 24 hours a day and identify even small changes, knowing each of your heartbeats well. With the step tracking sensor, you will be able to know the distance you have traveled as well as the steps you have taken. Additionally, GPS allows for satellite-based tracking of your geographical position, so you can accurately monitor your route.
Its waterproofing provides protection in all challenging conditions. It can be worn carefree for everyday use or when swimming, as it has the same waterproof capability as traditional high-end sports watches.
Finally, it can be used in various activities such as running, cycling, swimming, and hiking as it has pre-loaded sports profiles, each of which includes specialized measurements and indicators.
Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can report it here.
Amoled screen clear in all conditions.
The battery with always on display turned off lasts about 3-4 weeks depending on workouts.
The feel and weight improve with a loop type ultra fit nylon strap.
The ultimate tool for sports, I use it for swimming, running, cycling, improved gps in water and on land compared to the 6X pro I had. The screen is incredible and also has very good battery life. I have it opening with wrist movement and it lasts 20+ days with daily workouts. With the screen always on, the always on display lasts a week, but it's just a waste of energy. The only negative is the high price which will drop soon. And the scratches on the bezel (not on the glass) which are inevitable, because the paint is poor, they appear within days of simple use, we are talking about contact with walls, rocks or iron surfaces. Personally, I bought a rubber protective cover that distorts the image a bit but keeps it like new.
From a watch, I ask for three things: to be of absolute precision (of course it is), to be able to wear it in the sea (so far I have no complaints), and to show me who is calling. This it does not do. I have sent it to the dealership, they found nothing. However, in the 6 months that I have had it, it shows the caller for one month, not for the others. The Samsung watch 3 and Garmin instinct that I had before connected to the same phone (Samsung S21) did not have such a problem. I am discarding it and looking for the next one, what a shame. Update: a few days after the review, I don't know what happened, some update to the software? It connected normally by itself and since then it remains constantly connected. Perfect! So, I am changing my rating to be fair. Update 10/08/2024 A few days after the last update, same thing again: while it seems connected to the phone via the app, without me doing anything, the indication of who is calling is lost again. Restarts, reconnections to Bluetooth, nothing.
