Can two people be rivals when they play on the same team?

Adaline Reyes spent years perfecting her daily routine: waking up at dawn, heading straight to the offices of the Miami Flames soccer team, hard work, returning home, and starting all over again the next day.

But her routine is disrupted when a video of her attacking the team's mascot goes viral. The owner of the Flames—who happens to be her father—in an effort to calm things down, sends her to North Carolina, in the middle of nowhere, and assigns her the task of revamping the local soccer team that has hit rock bottom. Adaline's plans are overturned when she discovers that the team members are nine-year-old girls who wear ballet skirts to practice (not practical), have goats as pets (troublesome), and are terrified of her (counterproductive).

As if that wasn't enough, there is also Cameron Caldani, a professional goalkeeper who recently retired from active play, whose presence is a mystery. Cam, as he is affectionately called, is the ideal person to help Adaline, except that after their eventful first meeting, which involves a rooster, Cam's foot, and the bumper of Adaline's car, he aims to get rid of her. However, for Adaline to achieve redemption, she must help this diverse team by playing the Game of Patience.

With or without Cam's help.
