I come from the 8 and I have to say that it is worth the money, especially if you have something older than the 8. Brighter screen, faster response, and when it comes to reliability, we don't need to say much; Xiaomi does a good job with the bands. And together with Hyper OS, the band literally runs smoothly. What I would like (this applies to the 8 as well) is for them to release more watch faces and for some to have more shortcuts on them.
Before I had the Smart band 6 and even earlier the 5. The comparison is therefore made with these. I notice improvement in almost all areas, especially in the screen and battery (where it was needed). It easily lasts 10 days with almost everything on. The reason I give 4 stars is that it lacks some features that were present in the firmware of the previous ones, but not in this one. The most important are the screen lock and the automatic start/pause during exercise. Particularly useful in cycling when you stop for a break, etc. Additionally, it is not compatible with the Zepp life app, which remains the most complete and user-friendly (and the only one compatible with the Mi Body scale 2), but only with Mi Fitness. It remains to be seen the durability of the aluminum paint around the n=band as well as the lifespan of the battery.
It's beautiful, I don't have much knowledge about these things but so far it has worked for me, the strap doesn't irritate my wrist and the measurements seem correct!!
The smart band 9 is clearly the best of its kind for the money right now.
Its measurements have slightly greater accuracy than the smart band 8; I would say they are equally good, if not better, than some smartwatches from 2024.
The screen response is satisfactorily fast, while its brightness is noticeably better than that of the smart band 8, as it can reach significantly brighter levels. The difference in battery life is even greater, as it can last over 3 weeks (with battery-friendly settings), while also charging from 0% to 100% in about an hour.
Externally now, it has almost no difference from the smart band 8, except for the surrounding area, which is made of metal (aluminum) with a matte finish, instead of plastic as all previous generations of smart bands had. It should also be noted that because its shape remains the same as that of the previous generation, all the straps that fit the smart band 8 also fit the smart band 9.
The best band that Xiaomi has released so far.

Excellent Band! Of course, with minor improvements from the 8, the most noticeable being the upgrade of its battery and screen.
Very good response in the menus and it does everything you need from such a band!
I should mention that the option to set your own custom background still doesn't work, but I believe they will include it in future updates.

Accuracy in all measurements. Basically, I walk and the measurements are good. I don't take it off my wrist even in the bathroom or when I wash my hands. I can see it even in the sun. Fast charging, good battery life. I also got a strap because the one it comes with sometimes unhooks at work. Quick response when I turn my wrist but not always; when I ride my bike, it doesn't always show me immediately... The automatic brightness is very good and instant... I am satisfied; if I notice anything, I will come back, for now, I am very satisfied...
