Yes, it heats up but that's its job and that's why you buy it. If you wanted cold, you would get an ice pack. The main problem it has is that while its dimensions for a single mattress are satisfactory, 150 X 80 cm, the heating elements do not cover the entire surface, leaving a large gap at the edges. Essentially, the length of the heating elements is 114 cm, which means that the remaining 36 cm at the top and bottom remain frozen. The width of the heating elements is relatively satisfactory.
I also believe that automatically shutting off after three hours is not functional because you may simply want to leave it on all night on the first setting.
