Apart from laptops, cooling pads are ideal for cooling media players, hard drives, decoders, and of course routers. Especially routers that are operational 24 hours a day, when they heat up, their performance decreases and often we experience disconnections.
I have in my possession the FritZ! Box 5530 with an internal room temperature of 22°-24°C at the moment, and the router reaches 65c-68c with 22 connected devices, which the 5530 is known for its low temperatures. As soon as it was placed, it also covered the Mini UPS where it draws power from. The temperature of the router, which was the issue, dropped by 15-18c!!!
If, of course, your router has vents underneath and around for hot air extraction, buy a cooling pad.
As a product - construction materials - noise - installation, it performs excellently. The RGB feature doesn't interest me at all for these types of products.
Negatives: Very mediocre airflow, so it will be replaced in the next few days with the Deepcool N180FS.
3 stars due to the price!
Simply excellent! - The first one burned due to my own mistake by using a larger charger adapter. I immediately bought the same one!
Immortal!
Good value for money. The tube that holds the phone could have been more sturdy. As a lighting, it is just okay. With an additional +15-20€, you can clearly get something much better!
One of the two screws on the frame did not hold up well and easily became crooked. It was replaced by an optician and now it holds up. I have other Eyelead products and never had a problem. It seems like I got a batch that is not so good.
For the money, it is very good. Easy connection but don't expect fast speeds!
Beautiful print - good material.

**Three stars only for its bad WiFi, as it is AVM**
I think the "app" user said it all and I will add my own experience.
I have the same problem with the WiFi, as many of you might have.
The technicians at Cosmote also face the same issue.
With an ethernet cable, I get around 1135mbps / 112mbps max, with a max line noise of -13.5dbm. Extremely good, due to the good installation by the contractor.
With WiFi, I get around 1130mbps / 108 in the room where the router is (5Ghz) at a distance of 2 meters. Every meter I go back, the speed drops dramatically. At 4-5 meters without obstacles, it reaches a max of 750mbps and so on.
In the 2 farthest rooms where I have 2 other computers (15-18 meters approximately), with 1-2 walls as obstacles with closed doors, having the router on the other side of the house in a corner and not in a central point, and with a Fritz! Repeater 1200AX, I reach 350mbps / 112 and 400mbps / 108 in an 88 square meter house with proper manual channel selection.
As a router, it has incredibly many useful features but its WiFi is quite bad for a Fritz! router. It needs to be combined in the worst case with the Fritz Repeater 1200AX Mesh.
Apart from the WiFi issue, the router is flawless with an Ethernet connection, in terms of materials, settings, and amazing capabilities. Not so much in terms of temperatures.
Main mistakes:
Never use powerlines on optical fiber.
Noise should not exceed -23dbm.
A good optical fiber connection ranges from -12 (not lower) to 18dbm, which also depends on the contractor's work.
In conclusion, I would suggest not to change it for now.
The latest upgrade of the router is version 7.81 and you should definitely do it. If you also have the Repeater 1200AX, upgrade that as well.
If the router does not upgrade automatically, download the manual files from the AVM FTP address.
It is positive that there will be future upgrades - although the WiFi issue will not be fixed due to the 2 internal cables (version 2 - like the one provided by Cosmote) on the router's board - cable quality and wrong path.
If you want the best, buy a good 2 or 3 MESH package, but personally, I do not want to encourage you to make a new purchase where you will spend an additional 200€ on something good.
I am trying to solve the problem as much as I can at no cost and share it with you.
There was also a pilot test by me to test speeds at 2000mbps Download / 100mbps Upload with this router at Cosmote. It performed excellently (photo) and always with an ethernet cat6 cable.
(There is also a video on YouTube).
Finally, Skroutz should correct the characteristics in speeds for WLAN and LAN.
6 useful TIPS to improve your connection with this specific router.
1) Make sure the router is in a central point... "as much as possible" and not in a corner. If it is not in a central point or there are many square meters, you will need a Mesh Repeater 100%.
2) Same SSID name for 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz SOS!
3) "Never automatic" WiFi channel search as AVM suggests. Find the channels by yourself with the router's settings and with proper applications to find the ideal ones for 2.4 and 5Ghz.
4) Buy a Mesh Repeater "Definitely" (the Fritz! 1200AX by AVM is quite good - there are better ones). The connection should be made at a very close distance to the router, in the same room. As soon as it is connected, we take it out and place it in the dead spot we want. SOS!
5) For better performance and to avoid disconnections due to temperatures reaching 75-77c (imagine what will happen during a heatwave without air conditioning) - buy a Cooling Pad for laptops and place it on top. It reduces the temperature by up to 22 degrees. You will reach a maximum of 43c - 45c with over 20 active connected WiFi devices at a cost of 7-8€. SOS!
This cooling pad is excellent and reliable.

6) Do the upgrade yourself or with the help of a specialist with 2 highly reinforced external antennas. Cost 38-40€ with shipping from an independent German store that deals only with FritZ....google it and you will find it.
