Description

Of all the professional hats that Nikos Mastorakis has worn (in a successful career of forty years), the most unknown to the general public is that of the "writer". In this book, those who are not familiar with his witty, lyrical, tender, sarcastic, and charming writing style have the opportunity to discover a different Nikos Mastorakis from the one they have known (or think they have known) on television. It is a collection of his chronicles published in various newspapers, and mainly, the most recent ones in Dimitris Rizos' "Adesmeftos".
"Ephemeral type of text with rapid mortality," as he characterizes it himself, which, however, has not become outdated in relevance because "relevance, in Greece, is recycled and strangely revived."
Chronicles that, when not deeply rebellious, are provocative, incendiary, uncompromising, written without any internal censorship, but also nostalgic, lyrical, tender, and moving - when they touch upon the less discussed aspects of our daily lives. Thoughts and life positions that have not dried up under the ironclad opportunism or political and other fanaticism, and that many of us would have hesitated to publish.
And of course, Nikos Mastorakis does not spare anyone. Throughout the 500 pages of the book, all the protagonists of current affairs parade, and often the insignificance of those who delude themselves into thinking they are important is emphasized.
